On Nov 28, 2011, Urban Meyer, who had served as a graduate assistant at Ohio State from 1986 to 1987, was named the 24th head coach for the Buckeyes, replacing Fickell.[28] In the 2012 matchup, OSU'southward junior running back Carlos Hyde ran for 146 yards and the fourth-ranked Buckeyes, trailing at halftime, shut down No. xx Michigan's offense in the 2nd half to prevail 26–21 and cap a 12–0 flavor.[29]

Big Ten games [edit]

In Big 10 Conference play, Ohio Land leads the series 52–47–iv through the 2021 coming together.[69] [lxx] Michigan was a charter member of the Big Ten in 1896 earlier leaving the league after the 1906 football season. Ohio State began league play with the 1913 season, and Michigan returned for the 1917 flavour.[71] The 1918 matchup between the ii schools was the first between them with both equally Large Ten members. The 2020 matchup was canceled due to an increase in COVID-19 pandemic cases within the Michigan program.[72]
